Part-Time FD Services
Senior financial thinking, without the full-time cost.
Most growing businesses need FD-level input well before they can justify a full-time hire. A part-time FD gives you management accounts, cash flow oversight, and strategic input — without the salary. Qualified accountants. Transparent pricing. No long-term contract.
- Monthly management accounts in plain English, delivered on time
- Cash flow modelled forward so you see gaps before they arrive
- Board-ready reporting without the overhead of a full-time hire
- Financial input on pricing, hiring, and growth decisions when you need it
No long-term contract. If it is not the right fit after three months, you leave with everything documented and nothing owed.

Sound familiar?
Growing fast, but flying blind on the numbers?
Revenue is up, decisions are piling up, and the financial picture is still something you piece together from a bank statement at month end. Management accounts arrive late, or not at all. Cash flow is more instinct than model. That is not a sustainable position for a business heading into its next stage.
- ✕ No reliable cash flow view until the bank balance tells you
- ✕ Management accounts that arrive weeks late and explain very little
- ✕ Making hiring and pricing decisions without a financial model to check them against
What having an FD actually looks like
A part-time FD gives you the financial oversight of a senior hire without the overhead. The numbers are current, the forecasts are maintained, and there is someone in your corner when a decision needs more than a gut check.
- ✓ Cash flow modelled and maintained so you know what is coming, not just what has happened
- ✓ Management accounts delivered on time with a plain-English narrative — not just figures on a page
- ✓ A financial model to test decisions against before you commit to them
- ✓ Quoted pricing confirmed upfront — no hourly billing surprises at month end
What growing businesses say about us
From early-stage founders to established companies, clients consistently say the same things: clear communication, reliable delivery, and an accountant who actually explains the numbers.
Working with Wings Online Filings Ltd has been an absolute pleasure. They are highly communicative, supportive, and provide a responsive, cost-effective service that perfectly suits my small architecture practice. I switched from another accountant about a year ago and haven’t looked back since.
Incredible service and really affordable support for small businesses. Super quick and clear communication, and very reliable. Really loved working with them, highly recommend.
What part-time FD support covers
From management accounts and cash flow modelling to board reporting and strategic input — structured to the stage your business is at and priced transparently from the outset.
Financial Visibility Every Month
Monthly management accounts in plain English so you know where the business stands, not where it stood six weeks ago. Revenue, margins, and cost trends are tracked and explained — so the numbers inform decisions rather than just record them.

Your cash position is modelled forward so funding gaps, payroll obligations, and growth investments become visible before they become urgent. Scenario planning is included where the business needs to test different outcomes before committing.

Board-ready financial packs prepared for investor meetings, lender conversations, or internal review. Qualified FD-level input on pricing, hiring decisions, and financial planning is available when a decision needs more than instinct.

Why choose a part-time FD from Wings
The same qualified expertise as a full-time FD hire — structured around what your business actually needs right now, not what a large firm’s standard package assumes.
Numbers you can actually use
Management accounts and forecasts are delivered in plain English, not just columns of figures. You will know what the numbers mean and what to do about them — without needing to decode the report first. That distinction matters when the numbers are supposed to drive decisions.
FD thinking at SME pricing
A full-time Finance Director costs considerably more than most growing businesses can justify. A part-time arrangement gives you the strategic oversight, the reporting, and the advisory input at a fraction of that. Pricing is quoted transparently and confirmed before anything starts — no hourly billing ambiguity.
Consistent, direct involvement
Pradhyuman remains directly involved in client work — not handed off to a junior once the engagement is signed. When someone is supposed to know your business well enough to advise on it, consistency is not optional. The same qualified accountant is in the room for every conversation.
Up and running in four steps
From first conversation to live financial oversight — the process is straightforward and requires very little from you to get going.
Tell us about your business
A short call or a completed quote form — whichever suits you. We ask about your current stage, what reporting exists already, and what decisions you need better visibility on. No preparation required on your part.
We agree scope and pricing
A clear written proposal with the exact scope confirmed: management accounts frequency, cash flow modelling, reporting format, and any advisory input included. Fixed pricing, agreed before anything starts.
We set up and take over
Access to your accounting software is all we need. We review existing data, establish the reporting framework, and set up the cadence that suits your business. The handover is handled on our side.
You make better-informed decisions
Monthly accounts arrive on time. Cash flow is current. There is an FD-level view on the numbers whenever a decision needs it. Which is, frankly, the way it should be.
“Professional and expert. They guide you in detail where ever required.”
Things people usually ask first
What does a part-time FD actually do — and is it the same as an accountant?
An accountant handles compliance: year-end accounts, tax returns, VAT, payroll. A Finance Director operates a level above that — interpreting the numbers, modelling cash flow, advising on financial strategy, and providing the reporting a board or investor needs. A part-time arrangement gives you that FD-level input on a scheduled basis rather than as a full-time hire. The two roles work well together, and at Wings they sit within the same engagement.
How is this priced — is it a fixed monthly fee or hourly?
Part-time FD services are quoted based on your specific requirements: the frequency of management accounts, the complexity of your cash flow model, and the level of advisory input needed. There is no hourly billing. A fixed scope is agreed upfront, and pricing is confirmed in writing before anything starts. If your needs change, the scope and price are updated with your agreement — there are no surprises mid-engagement.
My financial records are not in great shape — is that a problem?
It is not unusual. Many businesses come to us with books that have not been kept current, or with accounting software that has not been reconciled in some time. We carry out a review at the start of the engagement, identify what needs to be brought up to date, and quote for any catch-up work separately and transparently. The FD service then runs on clean data from that point forward.
Is there a minimum contract length — what happens if I want to stop?
There is no long-term lock-in. Engagements are structured on a rolling basis and can be paused or ended with reasonable notice. If the arrangement is not working for you, you leave with all your data, reporting, and documentation in order — and nothing outstanding. The aim is to be the kind of firm you stay with because it is working, not because leaving is complicated.
Can you support businesses raising investment or preparing for a funding round?
Yes. Financial modelling, investor-ready management accounts, and board-pack preparation are all within scope. We have worked with bootstrapped and funding-backed startups valued at £3 million and above, and some founders we have supported have been featured in publications including The Times and Entrepreneur. The financial documentation required for a funding conversation is something we prepare routinely.
How far ahead does the cash flow modelling typically look?
The standard approach is a rolling 12-month cash flow forecast, updated monthly as actuals come in. For businesses planning a significant hire, a product launch, or a capital investment, we can extend the model further or add scenario layers to test different outcomes. The goal is that you are never making a significant financial decision based on last month’s bank statement.
Stop running the numbers without a financial map.
