CIS Accountants for Contractors
Your CIS returns and deductions, handled correctly.
CIS compliance catches out a lot of contractors — wrong deduction rates, missed monthly returns, subcontractors paid before verification. We deal with this every month for construction businesses across the UK. Quoted pricing, qualified accountants, and questions answered the day you ask them.
- Monthly CIS returns filed on time, every month without chasing
- Subcontractors verified with HMRC before the first payment goes out
- Correct deduction rates applied — gross, standard, or higher — without guesswork
- CIS deductions suffered offset against your tax bill at year end
No long-term contract. If the service is not what you need after three months, you leave with your CIS records in order and nothing owed.

Sound familiar?
CIS admin piling up faster than your invoices?
The Construction Industry Scheme is one of the more unforgiving corners of UK tax. Monthly returns must go in whether you paid anyone or not. Subcontractors need verifying before first payment. Deduction rates depend on registration status, and applying the wrong one creates problems in both directions. Most construction business owners know they should be on top of it — and most are not.
- ✕ Monthly CIS returns filed late or skipped, leaving HMRC penalties unpaid
- ✕ Subcontractors paid before verification, creating liability for incorrect deductions
- ✕ Wrong deduction rate applied, leading to overpayments or HMRC disputes
What CIS compliance looks like when it works
Monthly returns go in on time without you lifting a finger. Every subcontractor is verified before payment. Deduction rates are applied correctly from the start, and your CIS deductions suffered are reconciled against your tax liability at year end.
- ✓ Monthly CIS returns submitted to HMRC before every deadline, no exceptions
- ✓ Subcontractor verification completed with HMRC before any first payment is made
- ✓ Gross, standard, and higher-rate deductions applied correctly and documented clearly
- ✓ Transparent, quoted pricing — you know what CIS support costs before we start

CIS support covered end to end
From monthly returns and subcontractor verification through to year-end CIS reconciliation — all handled remotely for contractors and subcontractors across the UK.
Monthly CIS Returns Filed
Your monthly CIS return is submitted to HMRC on time regardless of whether you made any CIS payments in that period — nil returns included. Deduction statements are issued to each subcontractor so their own records stay accurate. You do not need to remember the deadline.
Monthly complianceSubcontractor Verification and Deductions
Every new subcontractor is verified with HMRC before their first payment goes out. The correct deduction rate — gross, 20% standard, or 30% higher — is confirmed and applied from the start. This prevents the most common source of CIS penalties and avoids underpayment disputes.
Included as standardYear-End CIS Reconciliation
If you are a subcontractor, CIS deductions suffered during the year are reconciled and offset against your corporation tax or self assessment liability. Any overpayment is identified and reclaimed through HMRC. Your year-end accounts reflect the correct net position — nothing is left on the table.

What sets us apart on CIS compliance
CIS is a monthly obligation with no grace period. The difference between getting it right and getting it wrong comes down to who is watching the calendar and the detail.
Returns Filed Without Chasing You
Monthly CIS returns go in whether you remember to prompt us or not. We track the schedule, prepare the return from your payment records, and submit before the deadline. Most clients tell us they stop thinking about it within the first month — which is largely the point.
Deduction Rates You Can Rely On
Gross status, standard 20%, unregistered 30% — applying the wrong rate creates problems with HMRC and with your subcontractors. We verify each subcontractor before first payment and document the confirmed rate. There is no guesswork and no after-the-fact corrections.
CIS Deductions Recovered at Year End
If CIS deductions have been taken from your payments throughout the year, those amounts count against your tax liability. We reconcile them during your year-end work and identify any overpayment due back from HMRC. It is a routine part of the process here — not an afterthought.
Up and running in four straightforward steps
Most clients are set up and have their first CIS return handled within a week of getting in touch. There is no paperwork avalanche.

We Review What You Have
Send over whatever CIS records exist — even if they are incomplete or behind. We assess where things stand, identify any returns that need filing, and confirm what catch-up work is needed before we go forward.
We Take It From Here
Subcontractor verification, monthly returns, deduction statements, and HMRC correspondence are handled by us from this point. You share your payment records each month — we do everything else.
CIS Off Your Plate
Monthly returns go in on time without you needing to remember a deadline. Your subcontractors receive their statements. At year end, your CIS position is reconciled and any amount owed back is reclaimed. Which is, frankly, the way it should have been all along.
“Professional, efficient, confidence that everything is taken care of.”
Honest answers about CIS support
Do you handle nil CIS returns in months when no subcontractors are paid?
Yes. A monthly CIS return is required by HMRC whether or not any payments were made that month — and missing a nil return carries the same £100 penalty as missing a substantive one. We track your schedule and submit the return each month regardless of payment activity. You do not need to flag it to us.
What does CIS payroll and returns support cost?
CIS support is priced on a quoted basis because the cost depends on how many subcontractors you pay each month and the volume of verification work involved. We provide a fixed monthly quote upfront — no hourly rates, no surprises. If you find a lower quote elsewhere, we will match it.
My CIS records are behind — can you sort out the backlog before taking over?
Yes. Catch-up work is a routine part of what we do. We will assess how far behind the returns are, confirm whether any penalties have accrued, and file the outstanding submissions in the correct order. The cost of catch-up is quoted separately and agreed in advance before any work begins.
Is there a long-term contract or minimum commitment?
No. There is no minimum term and no lock-in. If the service is not right for your business, you can leave at any point. Your CIS records, subcontractor details, and HMRC correspondence are yours — transferred in full. We would rather earn the relationship month by month than hold it by contract.
Can you help a subcontractor apply for gross payment status?
Yes. Gross payment status means HMRC does not require deductions from your payments before they reach you, which improves cash flow significantly. Eligibility depends on your turnover, tax compliance history, and business structure. We can assess whether you qualify and handle the application to HMRC on your behalf.
How are CIS deductions suffered offset against my tax bill?
If you are a subcontractor and deductions have been taken from your payments throughout the year, those amounts are credited against your corporation tax or self assessment liability at year end. We reconcile your CIS deduction statements against your total tax position and reclaim any net overpayment from HMRC. It is included as part of your year-end accounts work.
