UK Company Formation

Your new company, registered correctly from day one.

Most companies are formed in minutes online — but the structure, share allocation, SIC codes, and director setup matter more than people expect. Get them wrong and unpicking it costs time and money. We are an ACSP-registered practice with qualified accountants who do this every day, at a price we will match against any quote you find.

  • Registered at Companies House with the right details first time
  • Structure advice before you commit — Ltd, LLP, or sole trader explained plainly
  • SIC code, share structure, and director setup handled correctly from the start
  • Know your first compliance deadlines before you start trading

Sound familiar?

Not sure you are setting up the right way?

Forming a company takes about ten minutes online. Getting the structure right takes a bit longer. Wrong SIC code, an oversimplified share structure, or a director setup that does not match your intentions can cause complications down the line — from HMRC queries to shareholder disputes. The formation itself is the easy part. Knowing what it means, and what comes next, is where most first-time founders need a hand.

  • Unsure whether a limited company, LLP, or sole trader is actually right for your situation
  • Formation details filed incorrectly — wrong SIC code, share structure, or director information
  • No clear idea of the compliance obligations that start the day your company is registered

What getting it right looks like

We handle the registration and explain the decisions before you make them. You end up with a company formed correctly, an understanding of what it means, and a clear picture of what is due and when.

  • Structure advice in plain English before you commit — so you are confident in the choice
  • Companies House registration handled correctly, with the right details filed from day one
  • First compliance deadlines — confirmation statement, accounts, PAYE — mapped out clearly
  • Transparent quote-based pricing, backed by our price match promise

What you get

What the company formation service covers

A complete formation and setup service — from structure advice and Companies House registration through to your first compliance obligations, handled end to end.

01

Structure Advice Before You Register

Before anything is filed, we go through the options with you in plain terms — limited company, LLP, sole trader — so the choice makes sense for your specific plans. Getting this right at the start avoids the cost and complication of restructuring later. You leave the conversation knowing which route fits and why.

Why Wings Online Filings

Why use an accountant to form your company

Filing directly with Companies House costs £50 and takes ten minutes. Here is what you get when a qualified, ACSP-registered practice does it instead.

🏛️

ACSP-Registered With Companies House

Wings Online Filings is an Authorised Corporate Service Provider registered directly with Companies House — not a reseller or formation agent. That means we handle registrations with the same authority and accountability as a regulated practice. It also means we can file confirmation statements, manage company secretarial obligations, and handle closures or restorations if you ever need them.

📋

Structure Advice, Not Just a Filing

A formation agent registers whatever you ask for. We ask the questions first. Share structure, director versus shareholder split, dividend strategy, and whether a limited company is even the right vehicle — these are decisions worth getting right before anything is filed. You will not be left to figure them out from a GOV.UK page.

📅

Compliance Continuity From Day One

Most formation services end at the certificate of incorporation. We start where the obligations begin — corporation tax registration, PAYE setup, the first confirmation statement deadline. If you want ongoing accounting support, the transition is immediate and the price is transparent. Nothing needs to be re-explained to a new firm six months in.

Getting started

Up and running in four steps.

The process is straightforward. Most clients have their company registered and their first compliance deadlines mapped out within a few working days.

1

Request a Quote

Fill in the short form and tell us a little about what you are forming and why. We will come back to you the same day with a clear, fixed quote. No obligation at this stage.

2

A Short Conversation First

Before anything is filed, we go through structure, share allocation, and director setup with you. This takes twenty minutes and answers the questions most people do not know to ask. You confirm the details and we handle everything from there.

3

We File With Companies House

We submit the formation directly as an ACSP-registered provider. You receive your certificate of incorporation, your company number, and a clear summary of your first compliance deadlines. No back-and-forth with the Companies House portal required.

4

Your Company Is Ready to Trade

You know your registration number, your first statutory deadlines, and what needs to happen in year one. If you would like us to handle the ongoing accounting and compliance, we can pick that up immediately. Either way, you are starting from a solid foundation rather than hoping the online form was filled in correctly.

Questions

Things people usually ask before forming

Do I actually need an accountant to form a company, or can I just do it on GOV.UK?+

You can form a company yourself on GOV.UK for £50 — and for a very simple sole-director, single-share structure with no particular plans, that may be perfectly adequate. Where it gets more complicated is when share allocation, dividend strategy, multiple directors, or future funding are involved. Getting those wrong at formation is fixable, but it takes time and sometimes money to unwind. We ask the questions before filing so the structure reflects what you actually intend.

How much does company formation cost with Wings Online Filings?+

Company formation is priced on a quote basis because the work varies — a single-director Ltd with a straightforward setup is different from an LLP with multiple members or a company being formed as part of a restructure. We will give you a clear, fixed quote before any work starts. If you find a lower price elsewhere for a comparable service, we will match it.

Can you also handle the accounting once the company is registered?+

Yes — and the transition is straightforward because we already know the structure. Year-end accounts, corporation tax, confirmation statements, payroll, and VAT registration can all be picked up from day one. Pricing for ongoing compliance is quoted separately and transparently. There is no package bundling you into services you do not need yet.

Is there a minimum term or contract if I use Wings for company formation?+

No minimum term. The formation itself is a one-off service and you are not committed to anything beyond it. If you ask us to handle ongoing compliance, that arrangement works on a rolling basis — no long-term contract. If you want to move on at any point, your records are yours and we hand them over cleanly.

What is an ACSP and why does it matter for company formation?+

An Authorised Corporate Service Provider is a firm registered directly with Companies House that is permitted to file on behalf of clients. From autumn 2024, Companies House requires anyone filing company formations or changes on behalf of others to hold ACSP status. Wings Online Filings is registered, which means formations we handle comply with the current rules and are filed with the same rigour as any regulated professional service.

Should I think about tax before forming the company?+

Yes, and most people do not. The decision between sole trader and limited company has meaningful tax implications from the first year, particularly around salary and dividend planning, National Insurance, and the point at which incorporation starts to make financial sense. We go through this before filing, not after. Knowing your approximate tax position in year one helps you make the formation decision for the right reasons.
