Sound familiar?
Still not sure what your tax bill will be?
Running a business in Edinburgh means your time is already stretched. Most owners put accounting to one side until a deadline forces the issue — then scramble to find someone who knows what they are looking at. Local firms charge accordingly. Online services vary wildly in quality. Neither gives you a clear number until it is almost too late to do anything useful with it.
- No clear view of what you owe HMRC until the reminder lands
- Local accountant fees eating into margins without obvious justification
- Books not current enough to catch a VAT threshold or missed allowance
What sorted looks like
Your accounts are filed on time, your tax position is visible months before the deadline, and you are not overpaying for the privilege. Fixed fees mean no invoicing surprises. Plain-English updates mean you understand what is happening, not just that it is happening.
- Tax bill known well in advance — not the week HMRC wants it
- Fixed fees from £150 — no vague quotes, no monthly retainer surprises
- Books kept current so nothing is missed at year-end or VAT registration
- Price match promise — show us a lower quote and we match it
What Edinburgh business owners say
We work remotely with clients across Scotland and the UK. These are the kinds of results that make the switch worth considering.
Working with Wings Online Filings Ltd has been an absolute pleasure. They are highly communicative, supportive, and provide a responsive, cost-effective service that perfectly suits my small architecture practice. I switched from another accountant about a year ago and haven’t looked back since.
Working with Prad is an absolute lifesaver as someone just starting out in the business world. Being new to everything, it can feel incredibly overwhelming, but Prad makes the whole process straightforward and stress-free. His knowledge of UK accounting and HM Revenue & Customs is second to none.

Why Edinburgh businesses choose us
There are plenty of accountants you could use. Here is what makes the difference in practice.
The Best Priced Online Accountants
Company accounts and corporation tax for £250. Self assessment for £150. These are fixed, published fees — not estimates that grow once the work starts. If you find a lower quote from another regulated firm, we match it. That is not a marketing line; it is a commitment we stand behind.
Fully Online, Scotland-Ready
We serve Edinburgh and Scottish clients entirely remotely — video calls, cloud software, and a paperless process that works without anyone needing to visit an office. Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, and Sage are all supported, so you keep using whatever you already have. The distance makes no practical difference to the quality of the work.
Plain English, Not Jargon
Qualified accountants who explain what the numbers mean, not just what they are filing. You will know your tax liability before the deadline, understand why a particular relief applies, and not need a second accountant to interpret the first one. That is how it should work, and for our clients it does.
Up and running in four steps
Most clients are onboarded within a few days. There is no paperwork to print, no in-person meeting required, and no obligation until you decide to proceed.
Request a free quote
Fill in the short form on this page or call us on 020 8089 1876. We will ask a few straightforward questions about your business, your filing history, and what you need. No commitment at this stage — just information.
Receive a fixed-fee proposal
You will receive a clear, itemised quote — fixed fees for compliance work, specific quotes for ongoing services. No hourly rates, no scope creep, no surprises. If you have seen a lower price elsewhere, tell us and we will match it.
We handle the onboarding
Once you confirm, we request access to your existing accounts and any prior filings we need. If your books are behind or in some disarray, that is not unusual. We assess what is needed and include catch-up work in the scope before starting.
Focus on the business
Deadlines are tracked, filings are submitted, and you receive plain-English updates when anything needs your attention. Your tax position is visible, your compliance is current, and the parts of running a business you least enjoy are no longer yours to manage.
“Professional, efficient, confidence that everything is taken care of.”
Things Edinburgh clients usually ask
Do you actually work with Edinburgh and Scottish businesses, or is this a London-only service?
We work entirely online and serve clients across Scotland and the rest of the UK. Edinburgh, Glasgow, and the Highlands are all covered with exactly the same service and the same fixed fees. There is no office visit required — everything runs via cloud software and video calls, so geography makes no practical difference.
What does it cost, and is there anything not included in the fixed fee?
Company accounts and corporation tax return: £250 as a fixed one-off annual fee. Self assessment: £150. Dormant company accounts: £50. Confirmation statement filing: £70. Bookkeeping, VAT returns, and payroll are quoted based on the volume of transactions and your requirements — those prices are confirmed before any work starts. There are no hourly rates and no add-ons for HMRC or Companies House submission.
My books are behind and a bit of a mess. Can you still help?
This is not an unusual situation. We assess the state of the records at the outset and provide a clear quote for any catch-up work required before starting the ongoing engagement. The cost depends on how far behind things are and which platform you are using, but you will know the number before we touch anything. Most catch-up work is completed without the client needing to do much beyond sharing access.
Is there a long-term contract or a minimum commitment period?
There is no lock-in. For one-off filings such as self assessment or company accounts, you pay once and that is the engagement. For ongoing services such as bookkeeping or payroll, you can leave with reasonable notice and your records will be handed over in good order. We prefer to keep clients because the service is worth keeping, not because leaving is complicated.
Do you handle both Scottish and English tax rules, including LBTT and income tax differences?
Yes. Scottish taxpayers pay income tax at Scottish rates, which differ from the rest of the UK for the intermediate and higher bands. We account for Scottish Rate of Income Tax (SRIT) in self assessment returns for Edinburgh-based individuals. For property transactions, Land and Buildings Transaction Tax (LBTT) rather than SDLT applies in Scotland — we cover property disposal tax and can advise on the implications for landlords and developers in Edinburgh.
Can you help with tax planning, not just filing?
Filing is the floor, not the ceiling. Each year-end engagement includes a review of your tax position to identify allowances and reliefs you may not be claiming. For more involved planning — capital gains, EIS or SEIS relief, director remuneration structuring, or cash flow forecasting — we quote separately. The point is that you should know your tax liability months before HMRC does, not find out when the return is submitted.
