Do you handle CIS payroll as well as standard PAYE payroll?
Yes. We process both standard PAYE payroll and CIS payroll for construction businesses. For CIS clients, we calculate the correct deduction rates for each subcontractor, produce monthly statements, and file the required returns with HMRC. If you have a mix of directly employed staff and subcontractors, we handle both within the same service.
How is payroll priced and what is included in the fee?
Payroll pricing is quote-based because it depends on your number of employees and how often you run payroll. The quote we send you will be specific to your setup and will cover RTI submissions, payslip production, and HMRC correspondence for each pay period. Year-end P60s are included. P11Ds and P45s are covered where required. There are no additional charges for routine payroll work within the agreed scope.
We have existing payroll records elsewhere. How does switching work?
Switching payroll provider is straightforward. We will ask your previous provider or software for the payroll history we need, and we take it from there. If records are incomplete or the previous payroll was not maintained correctly, we can review what is there and bring things up to date before the next run. We will be clear about what is needed and what it will cost before we start any catch-up work.
Is there a minimum contract or a tie-in period?
No minimum contract. Payroll is billed on a period-by-period basis. If you want to stop, you give us notice and we ensure all records and submissions are in order before handover. You will not be left with gaps in your payroll history or missing HMRC submissions.
Can you set up pension auto-enrolment for us if we have not done it yet?
Yes. If you have not yet set up auto-enrolment, we can help you through the process: choosing a compliant pension provider, setting up the scheme, enrolling eligible employees, and maintaining the ongoing records you are legally required to keep. Missing auto-enrolment obligations can result in penalties from The Pensions Regulator, so it is worth getting it properly in place.
