Sound familiar?
The books are always last on the list.
When you are covering shifts, managing suppliers and keeping the kitchen running, the accounts tend to pile up quietly in the background. VAT on food and drink is more complicated than most sectors. Payroll changes weekly. And by the time you get to year-end, nobody is quite sure where the numbers are. It is a common situation, and not a difficult one to resolve.
- VAT errors from mixing zero-rated food with standard-rated items and drinks
- Payroll falling behind when staff hours and turnover change week to week
- No clear view of cash flow when margins are tight and costs keep shifting
What sorted looks like
Your books current, your VAT filed correctly, your payroll running on schedule, and your year-end accounts done well before the deadline. You know what the business owes and what it has earned. The compliance is handled.
- VAT returns prepared correctly with food and drink rates applied properly
- Payroll processed on time every period, whatever the staffing changes look like
- Monthly bookkeeping that gives you a clear picture of where the business stands
- Fixed fees published upfront, no bill surprises at year-end

What makes working with us straightforward
Three things that matter to a hospitality business looking for an accountant they can actually rely on.
Hospitality VAT handled correctly
Food and drink businesses sit in one of the more complicated parts of the VAT system. Zero-rated groceries, standard-rated hot food, reduced-rate items and service charges all need to be coded correctly. We apply the right treatment from the start, so your returns are accurate and you are not exposed to a HMRC correction down the line.
Payroll that keeps up with you
Hospitality staffing changes constantly. Hours fluctuate, people join and leave, tips arrangements need to be handled properly. We process payroll on your schedule and manage RTI submissions to HMRC so you are always compliant. Pension auto-enrolment is included, and P60s and P45s go out when they should.
Fixed fees, known in advance
Year-end accounts and corporation tax for a limited company are a fixed £250. Self assessment returns are £150. Bookkeeping, VAT and payroll are quoted to your volume before we start, so there are no bill surprises. Qualified accountants, ACSP-registered with Companies House and AML-supervised by HMRC.
Up and running in four steps
Most clients are fully onboarded within a week. The process is straightforward and we handle the parts that take the most time.
Tell us about your business
Fill in the quote form or book a call. We will ask about your structure, how many staff you have, your current VAT position, and where your books are up to. No preparation needed on your end beforehand.
Get a clear fixed quote
We send a written quote covering everything we will handle, at a fixed fee. Nothing is added later without your agreement. If the books need catching up, we will say so and price it separately.
We take over the compliance
You connect your accounting software or share your records, and we handle the rest. Bookkeeping, VAT returns, payroll, and year-end accounts are managed from our side. You get updates when things are filed and clear summaries of what matters.
Back to running the business
The compliance is handled on schedule, your tax position is visible, and you are not spending your evenings trying to reconcile the accounts. Which is how it should be.
“Professional, efficient, confidence that everything is taken care of.”
Things hospitality owners usually ask us
Do you understand how VAT works for food and drink businesses?
Yes, and it is one of the areas where errors are most common in this sector. Zero-rated cold food, standard-rated hot food, alcohol at 20%, and the interaction with things like meal deals and service charges all require the correct VAT treatment. We apply the right codes from the start and review your VAT position before each return so nothing is filed incorrectly.
What does it actually cost, and what is included?
Year-end accounts and corporation tax for a limited company are a fixed £250 per year, covering the P&L, balance sheet, CT600, and submission to HMRC and Companies House. Self assessment returns are £150. Bookkeeping, VAT returns and payroll are priced by volume and quoted in writing before we start. There are no add-ons you have not agreed to.
My books are behind and a bit of a mess. Can you still help?
This is a common starting point and not a problem. We will review what you have, tell you honestly what needs to be corrected, and give you a fixed catch-up cost before doing any work. Most clients arrive with records in some state of disarray and leave with everything current. The catch-up is priced separately so there are no surprises.
Is there a long-term contract?
No. We work on rolling monthly terms for ongoing services such as bookkeeping and payroll. If it is not working, you give notice and leave with clean, up-to-date records. There is no exit fee and no lock-in. One-off services such as year-end accounts and self assessment are single fixed-fee engagements.
Can you handle payroll for staff on irregular hours, including tips?
Yes. We process payroll for variable-hours employees, zero-hours contracts, and seasonal staff. Tips arrangements, including tronc schemes where applicable, need to be handled correctly to ensure the right tax and National Insurance treatment. We will ask about your current arrangements at the start so nothing is processed incorrectly.
How do I know what my tax bill is going to be before year-end?
For limited companies on our bookkeeping service, we produce regular management accounts that give you a running view of the profit position. This means your corporation tax estimate is visible months before the year-end deadline, not as a surprise after it. For sole traders, we review the position ahead of the January self assessment deadline so payments on account are not a shock.
Get the accounts sorted, and get back to the kitchen.
Fixed fees, qualified accountants, and no long-term contract. We handle the bookkeeping, VAT, payroll and year-end filings so you do not have to.
