Sound familiar?
Good sales month, but still not sure where the money went?
E-commerce can look profitable until you actually try to reconcile it. Platform fees, fulfilment charges, returns, and payment processor settlements all hit at different times, in different formats. On top of that, the VAT picture gets complicated fast, particularly once turnover starts to grow or you sell across borders. Most online sellers reach a point where the bookkeeping has quietly become a second job.
- Hours lost reconciling Stripe, PayPal, or Amazon payouts against the bank
- VAT threshold approaching and no clear plan for what to do when it hits
- No reliable view of actual profit once stock, fees, and returns are accounted for
What sorted looks like
Your accounts are kept current each month, your VAT position is monitored and filed on time, and you can see what the business is actually making. Less time in spreadsheets, fewer surprises from HMRC.
- Monthly bookkeeping with platform payouts reconciled accurately and promptly
- VAT threshold monitored, registration handled when needed, returns filed on time
- Clear monthly figures showing real profit after fees, stock, and returns
- Fixed fees published upfront, with no unexpected bills at year end

What makes the difference for online sellers
Three things that matter when you are looking for an accountant who already understands how e-commerce works.
No explaining how your platform works
We work with online retailers and marketplace sellers regularly. Platform fees, payout schedules, return provisions, and cost-of-goods accounting are things we already understand before you describe them. You will not spend the first call explaining how Shopify or Amazon pays out.
VAT handled before it becomes a problem
Your VAT threshold is tracked as part of the monthly work, not reviewed once a year when it may already be too late. When registration is required, we handle it. When a scheme change would benefit you, we say so. MTD compliance is included as standard.
Qualified, regulated, and transparent on cost
Wings Online Filings is run by qualified accountants and is an Authorised Corporate Service Provider registered with Companies House, AML-supervised by HMRC, and covered by professional indemnity insurance. Fixed fees are published for the most common work so you know the cost before you commit.
Up and running in four straightforward steps
Most new clients are set up and have their first month’s work underway within a few days of getting in touch.

Complete the short quote form or book a call. We will ask about your business structure, turnover, and what you currently have in place. No jargon, no lengthy questionnaire.
We Review Your Books
We look at where things currently stand and let you know what needs tidying, what is already fine, and what the cost will be to bring everything up to date. If there is catch-up work to do, we will quote for it separately and clearly.
We Take It From Here
Once you are set up on our preferred cloud accounting platform, we handle the monthly bookkeeping, VAT filings, and compliance deadlines. You receive a summary of the key figures each month in plain terms.
Focus on the Business
Your accounts are current, your VAT is filed, your tax bill is visible months in advance, and HMRC correspondence is considerably less of a concern. That is, broadly, the way it should be.
“Professional, efficient, confidence that everything is taken care of.”
Things e-commerce sellers usually ask us
Do you understand how marketplace payouts, platform fees, and stock costs actually work in practice?
Yes. We work with online retailers and marketplace sellers on a regular basis, so payout reconciliation, referral fees, fulfilment charges, and cost-of-goods accounting are things we deal with as a matter of course. You will not need to spend time explaining the basics of how your platform operates before getting useful answers.
What does it cost, and what is included?
For a limited company, the annual accounts and corporation tax return is a fixed fee of £250. Self assessment is £150. Confirmation statement filing is £70. Monthly bookkeeping and VAT returns are quoted based on transaction volume and frequency, so you get a clear number before anything starts. There are no retainer fees or add-ons that appear later.
My bookkeeping is behind. Can you still help?
Yes, catch-up work is something we handle regularly. When you get in touch, we review what is in place and let you know exactly what needs doing and what it will cost to bring the books up to date. The catch-up is quoted separately from the ongoing work so there are no unexpected amounts on your first bill.
Is there a long-term contract?
No. There is no minimum term or lock-in. If the arrangement is not working after three months, you leave with clean, up-to-date records and nothing further owed. Most clients stay because the work is done well, not because they are contractually tied in.
How do you handle VAT for businesses that sell on multiple platforms or into different countries?
UK VAT compliance is handled as standard, including Making Tax Digital. If you sell into the EU or further afield, we can advise on the UK obligations and flag where international VAT registrations may be required. We will tell you clearly what falls within our scope and what may need a specialist referral, so nothing gets overlooked.
Can you help me understand what my business is actually making, not just what gets filed?
Yes. For clients who want more than compliance, we offer monthly management accounts that show revenue, cost of goods, gross margin, and net profit in plain terms. That kind of visibility tends to be useful when you are deciding whether to invest in more stock, change a supplier, or adjust pricing. We can discuss whether that makes sense for your business when we talk.
Less time on the books, more on the business.
