Sound familiar?

Still doing your own accounts because no one fits the budget?

Most small business owners start off handling their own books because it feels more affordable. Over time, it takes up hours that should go on the business, the risk of a missed deadline or an incorrect filing grows, and the tax position is rarely as optimised as it could be. It is not a failure of effort. It is just the wrong use of your time.

  • Hours spent on bookkeeping and bank reconciliation that should be billable time
  • No clear picture of what the tax bill will be until it arrives from HMRC
  • Deadline dates tracked manually, with the worry of a penalty if one slips

What sorted looks like

Hand the accounting to a qualified practice with fixed, published fees, and your numbers are current, your compliance is covered, and you know what your tax position looks like before it becomes urgent.

  • Bookkeeping handled monthly so your time goes back to the business
  • Your tax bill calculated in advance, with time to plan before it is due
  • Every deadline tracked and filed on time, with nothing left to chase
  • A clear, fixed fee before any work begins, with no invoices that surprise you

Why Wings Online Filings

What makes this practice worth switching to

Three things that come up consistently in client conversations, and that are genuinely true rather than things we just say.

📋

Prices Published Before You Commit

Year-end accounts and corporation tax is £250. Self assessment is £150. Dormant accounts are £50. Confirmation statements are £70. These are not starting prices or estimates. They are the actual fees, published so you can compare them without a conversation first. Variable services such as bookkeeping and VAT are quoted based on your volume, and you see the quote before any work starts.

💬

The Numbers Explained, Not Just Filed

Filing accounts is the minimum. Knowing what they mean is the useful part. We explain your figures in plain terms so you understand your tax position, your profit margin, and what HMRC expects of you. Most clients say this is the part they value most, because their previous accountant rarely did it.

🏛️

Regulated, Qualified, and Properly Covered

Wings Online Filings is an Authorised Corporate Service Provider registered with Companies House, supervised for anti-money laundering purposes by HMRC, and covered by professional indemnity insurance. The work is carried out by qualified accountants. That combination matters when someone is trusting you with their financial compliance.

Getting started

Up and running in four steps

Most clients are fully set up within a few days. The process is straightforward, and we do the heavy lifting from step two onwards.

1

Get a Quote

Fill in the short form on this page or call us directly. Tell us what your business does, roughly what your turnover is, and what services you need. We will come back with a clear, fixed quote the same day.

2

Share Your Records

You give us access to your accounting software, or send us whatever records you have. If your books are behind or in a mess, that is fine. We handle catch-up work regularly and will tell you upfront what that involves.

3

We Handle the Accounting

From that point, the bookkeeping, tax returns, and statutory filings are our responsibility. You receive updates when things are complete, and a plain-English summary of anything that needs your attention.

4

You Focus on the Business

Your accounts are current, your compliance is handled, and your tax position is visible before it becomes urgent. The part of running a business that most owners like least is, for the most part, off your plate.

Questions

Things small business owners usually ask us first

Do you work with very small businesses, or just established companies?+

We work with businesses at every stage, from sole traders doing their first self assessment to small limited companies that have been trading for several years. The services and pricing scale to suit the size of the business, and we are straightforward about what is and is not worth spending on at each stage.

What does it actually cost, and what is included?+

For the most common filings, the prices are fixed and published: company accounts and corporation tax return is £250, self assessment is £150, dormant accounts are £50, and confirmation statements are £70. Each of those fees covers preparation, filing, and submission to HMRC or Companies House. Bookkeeping, VAT, and payroll are quoted based on your volume before any work begins. There are no additional fees added afterwards.

My books are behind and not in great shape. Is that a problem?+

Not unusually so. A reasonable number of new clients come to us with books that are several months behind or that have been kept inconsistently. We carry out catch-up bookkeeping as a separate piece of work and will quote for that once we have seen what is involved. The cost depends on how far back we need to go and the number of transactions, and we agree that before starting.

Is there a minimum contract or a lock-in period?+

No. There is no minimum term and no lock-in. One-off filings are paid for as a single fee. For ongoing services, you can stop at any time, and we will ensure your records are handed over cleanly. We would rather earn continued work by doing a good job than by making it awkward to leave.

Can you work with my existing accounting software, or do I have to switch?+

We work with Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, and Sage, so if you are already using one of those, nothing needs to change. If you are not using any software at all, we can advise on what makes sense for the size and type of your business. We do not push a specific platform on every client.

How do I know what my tax bill is going to be before the deadline?+

We prepare your accounts and tax computation well ahead of the filing deadline, which means you see the figure with enough time to plan. For sole traders with payments on account, we also walk through what those are and when they fall due, so there are no amounts arriving unexpectedly from HMRC.
