Accountant for the Self Employed
Your self assessment tax return, done properly.
Many self-employed people file their own return and either overpay or miss allowances they were entitled to. A qualified accountant handles your self assessment from £150, claims every allowable expense, and tells you what you owe well before the January deadline.
- Self assessment filed accurately, with all allowances claimed
- Know your tax bill months before HMRC sends the reminder
- Fixed fee from £150, with no surprises when the invoice arrives
- Plain-English explanation of your return, not just a filed form
No long-term contract required. If you decide it is not for you, you leave with your return filed and nothing outstanding.

Sound familiar?
Still doing your own tax return every January?
Most self-employed people spend far longer on their return than they expected, and a good number either miss allowable expenses or claim things they should not. The result is either an overpaid tax bill or a letter from HMRC you would rather not receive. Neither is a good use of an evening in late January.
- Not confident you have claimed every allowable business expense correctly
- No idea what your tax bill will be until HMRC confirms it
- Hours lost on a self assessment form you were not trained to complete
What a proper self assessment looks like
A qualified accountant reviews your income and expenses, claims everything you are entitled to, and files your return with HMRC before the deadline. You know what you owe, and why, before it is due.
- Every allowable expense reviewed and claimed, so you do not overpay
- Your tax liability calculated and explained months before January
- Return prepared and filed by a qualified accountant, not by you
- Fixed fee of £150, covering SA100 and SA302 preparation and HMRC submission
What self-employed clients say
These are the kinds of clients we work with every week: sole traders, freelancers, and people managing their first self assessment who want it handled properly.
Absolutely brilliant service. Prads is so efficient and knowledgeable. For the first time I feel well supported and informed over my self assessment returns and tax advice in general. Thank you!
Working with Prad is an absolute lifesaver as someone just starting out in the business world. Being new to everything, it can feel incredibly overwhelming, but Prad makes the whole process straightforward and stress-free.
What the £150 fixed fee covers
One fixed annual fee covers the full self assessment process from start to finish. No hourly rates, no add-ons for complexity, no bill you did not expect.
Self Assessment Tax Return
Your SA100 and SA302 are prepared by a qualified accountant, covering income from self-employment, property, dividends, savings, or multiple sources. Every allowable expense and applicable relief is reviewed before the return is filed. You see the figures before anything is submitted.
Fixed fee £150Tax Planning and Advice
Beyond the filing, we explain your payments on account so January does not arrive as a surprise, and flag any planning opportunities relevant to your situation. If your circumstances have changed during the year, that is factored in before the return goes in.
Included as standardBookkeeping and VAT Support
If your records need tidying before your return can be prepared, or if you are approaching the VAT registration threshold, we can pick that up separately with a fixed quote. Many self-employed clients start with a return and add bookkeeping support once they see the time it saves.

What makes the difference for self-employed clients
Several accountants will file your return. Fewer will explain what is in it, tell you what it cost before you commit, and be available when you have a question in March.
Your tax bill explained, not just filed
Filing a return and explaining a return are different things. We send you the figures before submitting, walk through what you owe and why, and flag anything worth knowing for next year. You finish the process understanding your own tax position.
Fixed fee, no surprises
Self assessment is £150. That covers preparation, all income sources, allowances and reliefs, payments-on-account advice, and HMRC submission. You know the cost before we start. If your situation is more complex, we say so upfront and agree a price before any work begins.
Qualified, regulated, and properly covered
We are qualified accountants, AML-supervised by HMRC, and covered by professional indemnity insurance. We are also an Authorised Corporate Service Provider registered with Companies House. For a sole trader filing a self assessment, that level of professional standing matters when HMRC asks questions.
Your return sorted in four steps
The process is straightforward and most of it happens on our side. Your main job is gathering your income and expense information, which we guide you through.

Fill in the short form or call us on 020 8089 1876. Tell us a little about your income sources and we will confirm the fee and what we need from you. No commitment at this point.
Send Us Your Records
We send a simple checklist of what to pull together: income figures, any expenses, and a few details about the tax year. Most clients have everything ready within an hour. If your records are incomplete, we work with what you have and flag any gaps.
We Prepare Your Return
A qualified accountant reviews your figures, claims every allowable expense and relief, and prepares your SA100 and SA302. You receive the completed return to review before anything is submitted to HMRC. No surprises.
Filed, Confirmed, Done
Once you approve the return, we submit it to HMRC and send you confirmation. You know exactly what you owe, when payment is due, and what to expect for the following year. Less to worry about from here.
“Professional, efficient, confidence that everything is taken care of.”
What self-employed clients usually ask
I have income from multiple sources, not just my main trade. Can you handle that?
Yes. The £150 fee covers self-employment income alongside other sources such as rental income, dividends, savings interest, employment income, and capital gains. We review the full picture before preparing the return, and we flag any reliefs or allowances that apply across those sources.
What exactly is included in the £150 fee, and are there extras?
The fee covers preparation of your SA100 and SA302, review of income from all sources, claiming applicable allowances and reliefs, advice on payments on account, and submission to HMRC. If your records need significant catch-up work before the return can be prepared, we agree a separate quote for that first, so you always know the total cost before we start.
My records are not in great shape. Can you still help?
That is a fairly common situation. We work from whatever you have and let you know if anything is missing. If there is catch-up bookkeeping required, we quote for that separately and clearly before any work begins. Starting with incomplete records does not mean the return cannot be done properly.
Is there a minimum contract or am I locked in?
No contract, no lock-in. Self assessment is a one-off annual engagement. You engage us for the year, we file your return, and that is the end of it unless you want to continue. Many clients do return each year, but that is entirely their choice.
Can you help if I have not filed for one or more previous years?
Yes. We handle late returns and can prepare multiple years at once if needed. HMRC late-filing penalties accrue over time, so the sooner previous years are filed the better. We will confirm what each year costs before starting, and we deal with HMRC directly on your behalf throughout the process.
How do I know whether I need to register for VAT?
If your self-employed turnover is approaching or has exceeded the current VAT registration threshold of £90,000, this is worth reviewing before the return is filed. We flag the threshold position as part of the return process and can advise on registration and the most appropriate VAT scheme for your situation if it becomes relevant.
