Sound familiar?

Not sure your tax return is actually right?

Self assessment catches people out every year, not because the numbers are complicated, but because it is easy to miss income sources, claim the wrong reliefs, or submit late and pick up a fine. Doing it yourself under time pressure rarely ends well. A figure entered incorrectly can sit there for years before HMRC queries it.

  • Not certain all your income sources have been declared correctly
  • Payments on account caught you off guard and left a gap in your cash flow
  • Left it too late and now facing a potential penalty from HMRC

What a properly filed return looks like

We go through your income, expenses, and reliefs carefully before anything is submitted. You know your tax bill in advance, you are not paying more than you owe, and HMRC has everything it needs on time.

  • Every income source reviewed and declared, nothing missed or duplicated
  • Payments on account explained before they fall due, no surprises in January
  • Filed well ahead of the deadline, penalty risk removed entirely
  • Fixed fee of £150, one-off, no ongoing commitment required

What you get

What the £150 fixed fee covers

The self assessment fee covers the full preparation and submission of your tax return, including tax planning advice. There are no add-on charges for straightforward cases.

01

Full SA100 and SA302 Preparation

We prepare your personal tax return from your income records, covering employment, self-employment, property, dividends, savings, and any other sources. The SA302 tax calculation is included, which many lenders require for mortgage applications. You receive a clear summary before we file anything.

Included as standard
02

Allowances, Reliefs, and Tax Planning

We check that all applicable allowances and reliefs are claimed correctly, including trading expenses, property expenses, pension contributions, and the personal allowance. Payments on account are explained so you know exactly what HMRC will expect in January and July. If there is a straightforward way to reduce the bill within the rules, we will tell you.

Included as standard
03

HMRC Submission and Confirmation

Once you have approved the figures, we submit directly to HMRC on your behalf. You receive confirmation of filing and a record of the submission for your own files. Deadlines are tracked on our end, so the January 31st date does not creep up without warning.

Why Wings Online Filings

What makes the difference in practice

There are plenty of accountants who will file your return. Fewer will explain what the numbers mean, flag what to watch for next year, and tell you your bill in advance.

📋

Your tax bill before HMRC asks

We calculate your liability before we file, so you know the figure well in advance rather than finding out on or after the deadline. Payments on account are explained at the same time, covering both the January and July amounts. No January surprises is the practical aim.

🔍

Reliefs checked, not assumed

A self assessment filed in a hurry often leaves money on the table, not through dishonesty, but through things not asked about. We go through your income and expenditure properly, asking the questions that matter. The result is a return that reflects your actual position, not a conservative approximation of it.

🏛️

Regulated and qualified throughout

We are qualified accountants, an Authorised Corporate Service Provider registered with Companies House, and AML-supervised by HMRC. Professional indemnity insurance is in place. The work is done to a professional standard, not just filed and forgotten.

Getting started

Your return filed in four straightforward steps

Most clients are surprised by how little they need to do once they hand things over. Here is the process from your first contact to HMRC confirmation.

1

Get in touch for a quote

Fill in the quote form or book a call. We will ask a few questions about your income sources and the tax year in question. You will have a fixed fee confirmed before any work begins.

2

Share your income records

We let you know exactly what we need, which is typically bank statements, P60s or P45s, invoices, and any other relevant figures. There is no need to organise everything perfectly beforehand. We work with records in the state they arrive.

3

We prepare and review with you

We prepare the full return and send you a summary for approval before anything is submitted. Your tax liability is set out clearly, including any payments on account due. You have the opportunity to ask questions before we file.

4

Filed, confirmed, done

Once you approve the figures, we submit to HMRC and send you confirmation. Your tax position is clear, the deadline is met, and there is nothing left to chase. Next year, the process is considerably quicker.

Questions

Things people usually ask before getting started

I have income from multiple sources. Can you handle a return that is not straightforward?+

Yes. We regularly prepare returns covering combinations of employment, self-employment, property rental, dividends, savings interest, capital gains, and foreign income. The fee for a standard return is £150. Where a return involves additional complexity, we will confirm the fee upfront before any work begins, so there are no surprises.

What does the £150 fee include, and are there any additional charges?+

The £150 one-off fee covers preparation of your SA100 and SA302, review of all applicable allowances and reliefs, a pre-filing summary showing your tax liability, and submission to HMRC on your behalf. For most individual self assessment cases, that is the complete cost. Where a return involves significant additional work, such as multiple rental properties or capital gains disposals, we will agree a revised fee with you before proceeding.

I have not filed for a couple of years. Can you sort out the backlog?+

Yes. We handle late and multiple-year filings regularly. HMRC charges automatic penalties for late returns, but submitting late is still considerably better than continuing to leave it. We will prepare the outstanding returns, calculate the liability for each year, and handle the submission. We can also advise on appealing penalties where there are reasonable grounds.

Is there any ongoing commitment if I just need a one-off return filed?+

None at all. The self assessment service is available on a one-off basis with no retainer or ongoing contract. Many clients choose to return each year because the process is straightforward and the fee stays fixed, but there is no obligation to do so.

What is the deadline for self assessment, and how close to it can I come to you?+

The online filing deadline is 31 January following the end of the tax year. We can take on new clients at any point in the year, and we do assist clients who come to us close to the deadline, though earlier is always preferable. If you come to us in December or January, we will be honest about what is feasible given the volume of work at that time of year.

Can you advise on reducing my tax bill, or is the service just a filing exercise?+

Both. Filing accurately is the foundation, but we also review your position for planning opportunities before submitting. Common areas include pension contributions, the timing of income and expenditure, and ensuring any available reliefs are fully used. If there is something that falls outside the standard self assessment scope, such as a capital gains disposal or a significant one-off event, we will flag it and advise on next steps.
