Monthly Accounting Packages

Monthly Accounting Packages

Your books and tax, handled every month, so you can focus on your business.

Running a business generates a steady stream of numbers, VAT deadlines, payroll runs, and compliance obligations. Most business owners find it easier when a qualified accountant takes responsibility for the lot on a regular basis. Our monthly packages cover bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, and more, with a clear fixed quote and no unexpected bills.

  • Books up to date every month, no year-end scramble
  • VAT returns prepared and submitted before each deadline
  • Payroll processed accurately, with RTI submissions handled
  • A qualified accountant reviewing your numbers every month

No long-term contract required. If the arrangement is not working after three months, you leave with clean, current books and nothing owed.

Better Strategic Consultancy

Sound familiar?

Still doing your own books at the end of each month?

Most business owners start out handling their own accounts. It works, until it does not. Receipts pile up, bank reconciliations slip behind, and VAT return season arrives with a sense of mild dread. The time it takes is one problem. The uncertainty about whether it has all been done correctly is another.

  • Bookkeeping left until the last minute, then rushed through quarterly
  • No clear picture of profit or cash position until well after the month closes
  • VAT deadlines, payroll runs, and RTI submissions all landing at once

What a monthly package actually looks like

With a monthly accounting package, the work happens throughout the year rather than in one annual panic. Your books stay current, your obligations are met on time, and you have someone reviewing the numbers regularly so nothing is missed.

  • Bookkeeping kept current each month, with no year-end catch-up required
  • Monthly or quarterly reports so you know where your business stands
  • VAT, payroll, and RTI submissions handled before each due date
  • One clear monthly fee, agreed upfront, with no unexpected additions

What you get

What a monthly package typically covers

Each package is scoped to your business, so you pay for what you actually need. The core components are the same across most clients.

01

Bookkeeping and Cloud Accounting

Your transactions are categorised, reconciled, and kept current each month using Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, or Sage, whichever suits your business. Receipts can be captured digitally via Dext, so there is no envelope of paper to hand over. At the end of each month, your books reflect your actual position.

Included as standard
02

VAT Returns and MTD Compliance

Your VAT return is prepared and submitted each quarter (or monthly, if required), with all Making Tax Digital obligations covered. We review the figures before submission, flag anything unusual, and file on time. If you are not yet VAT-registered and approaching the threshold, we will let you know before it becomes urgent.

Included where VAT-registered
03

Payroll, PAYE, and Pension

Payroll is processed each pay period, with RTI submissions to HMRC and payslips issued to employees. Pension auto-enrolment contributions are calculated and reported. Year-end P60s and P11Ds are included where relevant. CIS payroll is also available for businesses in construction.

Included where applicable

Why Wings Online Filings

What makes the ongoing service worth having

There are plenty of accountants who will file your year-end accounts. Fewer will stay on top of your books throughout the year, explain what the numbers mean, and flag things before they become problems.

📋

Your Numbers Explained, Not Just Filed

Every month, you receive figures that reflect your actual trading position. We explain what matters in plain terms, not accounting jargon, so you can make straightforward decisions about your business. If something in the numbers warrants attention, we will tell you.

🔒

Qualified, Regulated, and Accountable

All work is carried out by qualified accountants. Wings Online Filings is an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP) registered with Companies House and supervised by HMRC for anti-money laundering purposes. Professional indemnity insurance is in place.

💻

Online and Available Across the UK

The service is delivered entirely online, which means no travel, no unnecessary meetings, and no geographical restriction. Clients across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland work with us on the same basis. Meetings are by video call when needed, and questions are answered directly.

Getting started

Up and running in four straightforward steps

Most clients are set up within a week. The process is designed to require as little from you as possible at the outset.

1

Tell Us About Your Business

Fill in the short quote form and describe your business: what you do, your current setup, and which services you need. There is no commitment at this stage. We will come back to you within one business day with a clear scope and a fee.

2

We Agree Scope and Fee

Once we understand your requirements, we confirm exactly what is included in your monthly package and what it costs. If your books need catching up before the regular service begins, we will tell you the cost for that separately, upfront.

3

We Connect to Your Accounts

We set up access to your cloud accounting software (or migrate you to a suitable platform if needed). Bank feeds are connected, and any outstanding transactions are reconciled. From this point, the monthly work begins and you largely step back.

4

Your Books Are Handled Each Month

Each month, your bookkeeping is completed, your reports are ready, and any upcoming obligations (VAT, payroll, filings) are taken care of. You receive a summary of where your business stands. The accounts are no longer something you need to think about.

Questions

Things people usually ask before getting started

What exactly is included in a monthly accounting package?+

The scope varies depending on your business, but a typical package covers monthly bookkeeping, bank reconciliation, VAT return preparation and submission (if VAT-registered), payroll processing (if you have staff), and access to your accountant for queries during the month. Year-end accounts and corporation tax or self assessment are usually scoped and priced separately as a one-off annual fee. We confirm the full scope in writing before anything begins.

How much does a monthly package cost?+

Monthly accounting packages are priced by quote, because the fee depends on the volume of transactions, whether VAT and payroll are included, and the complexity of your business. We ask a few questions upfront and come back with a clear monthly figure. One-off annual filings such as company accounts and tax returns (£250) and self assessment (£150) are priced separately at fixed fees. There are no hidden additions once the scope is agreed.

My books are behind. Can you still take me on?+

Yes. We regularly take on clients whose bookkeeping is several months in arrears or whose records are in a partial state. We will assess what catch-up work is needed and quote for it separately, so you know the cost before we start. Once the books are current, the monthly service runs from that point forward.

Is there a minimum contract period?+

There is no long-term contract. We ask for a reasonable notice period (typically one month) so that records can be tidied and handed over cleanly, but there is no lock-in. If the arrangement is not the right fit, you are free to leave, and you will take away your records in good order.

Which accounting software do you use, and do I need to pay for it separately?+

We work with Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, and Sage. The software subscription is typically a separate cost paid directly to the provider, though some arrangements can include it. We will advise which platform suits your business at the outset, and we handle the setup. If you already use one of these platforms, we simply request access.

Will I be able to see how my business is performing each month?+

Yes. As part of the monthly service, we provide a summary of your profit and loss position and flag anything that warrants attention. If you want more detailed management accounts, including cash flow or departmental reporting, that can be added to the package. The point is that you should know where your business stands without having to ask.
