Sound familiar?
Still not sure what your tax bill is going to be?
Most people who need a tax return are not accountants. They have multiple income sources, a pile of paperwork they are not entirely sure how to read, and a deadline that appears faster each year. The penalty for a late or incorrect return is immediate. Most of the stress comes from not knowing where to start, which is largely avoidable once someone else is handling it.
- Tax return deadline approaching with receipts and figures not yet pulled together
- Unsure which allowances and reliefs apply, so the return may not be optimised
- Multiple income sources making the self assessment process feel more complicated than it should
What a handled return looks like
You send us your income details. We do the preparation, check for applicable reliefs, and submit to HMRC. You receive a clear summary of what is owed and when, with no surprises when the payment date arrives.
- Everything prepared and filed before your deadline, with no last-minute scramble
- Allowances and reliefs properly reviewed so you do not pay more than required
- All income sources covered clearly, however many you have
- Fixed fee from £150, confirmed before we start, with nothing added on at the end
What clients say about their returns
We work with sole traders, directors, freelancers, and landlords across the UK. Here is what a couple of them said after their returns were filed.
Absolutely brilliant service. Prads is so efficient and knowledgeable. For the first time I feel well supported and informed over my self assessment returns and tax advice in general. Thank you
Prads was very fast and communicative with my personal annual filing.
What the £150 fixed fee covers
The self assessment fee covers preparation, HMRC submission, and a plain-English summary of your tax position. No add-ons for multiple income sources or payments-on-account advice.
SA100 and SA302 Preparation
Your personal tax return is prepared in full, covering employment income, self-employment profits, rental income, dividends, and any other taxable sources. We check figures carefully before anything is submitted to HMRC. You get a summary of the return and what it means before it is filed.
Included as standardAllowances, Reliefs, and Payments on Account
We review which personal allowances, deductions, and reliefs apply to your situation, so the return is optimised rather than just completed. We also cover payments on account, explaining what is due and when, so there are no unexpected bills later in the year.
Included as standardHMRC Submission and Confirmation
Once you have approved the figures, we submit the return directly to HMRC and provide confirmation of filing. Deadlines are tracked and managed, so the £100 late-filing penalty is simply not something you need to think about.
Included as standardRated Excellent on Trustpilot
Clients range from first-time sole traders filing for the first time to directors managing multiple income streams. A consistent theme is clarity and speed.

What makes the difference on a tax return
Filing a return is straightforward enough. Getting it right, explaining it clearly, and making sure you do not overpay takes a bit more care.
Your tax position explained clearly
Most people who receive a completed tax return still have questions. We give you a plain-English summary of what was filed, what you owe, and why, before the return goes to HMRC. If something looks unusual, we flag it and explain it rather than leaving you to work it out from a PDF.
Reliefs reviewed, not just ticked off
A return that is filed on time is not necessarily filed correctly or efficiently. We check applicable allowances and reliefs as part of the standard process, including trading allowances, mileage, use-of-home claims, and payments on account. The fixed fee does not change whether the return is simple or involves multiple income sources.
Deadlines tracked, penalties avoided
The 31 January online filing deadline and the payments-on-account dates in July catch a surprising number of people off guard. We track your deadlines and let you know what is coming, so the £100 late-filing penalty and the associated interest charges are not something you encounter. Which is, frankly, the way it should be.
Your return filed in four steps
The process is designed to take as little of your time as possible. Most clients spend under an hour on their side before the return is ready to file.

Fill in the short form or call us. We confirm the fixed fee upfront and let you know exactly what is included. No obligation, and no vague pricing ranges.
Send Your Information
We send you a straightforward checklist of what we need: income figures, any expenses, P60s, bank statements, or whatever applies to your situation. You send these over securely. We ask questions if anything needs clarifying.
We Prepare the Return
Your SA100 and SA302 are prepared in full. We check for applicable reliefs and produce a summary for you to review, in plain English. Nothing goes to HMRC until you have seen it and are comfortable.
Filed, Confirmed, Done
Once you approve the figures, we submit to HMRC and send you the filing confirmation. You know your tax bill, the payment dates, and what to expect next year. That is the whole process.
“Professional, efficient, confidence that everything is taken care of.”
What people usually ask before getting started
I have income from employment, freelance work, and rental property. Can you handle all of that in one return?
Yes. A single self assessment return can cover all of those sources, and the fixed fee does not increase because you have more than one. We work through each income stream, check what expenses and reliefs apply to each, and produce a single return that covers everything accurately. If any source requires additional schedules or supplementary pages, those are included as standard.
How much does a self assessment tax return cost, and what exactly is included?
The fixed fee is £150 for a standard self assessment tax return. That covers preparation of the SA100 and SA302, a review of applicable allowances and reliefs, a plain-English summary for you to review before submission, and the HMRC filing itself. There are no additional charges for multiple income sources, payments-on-account advice, or follow-up questions after filing. If your situation is particularly complex, we will tell you that upfront before confirming the fee.
My records are not in great shape. Is that a problem?
It is more common than you might think. We will send you a checklist of what is needed and work through it with you. If records are incomplete, we will let you know what we can use and flag anything that could cause an issue with HMRC. Catch-up work can be quoted separately where needed. The starting point is a conversation, not a judgment.
Do I need to commit to using you every year, or can I just use you once?
There is no contract or ongoing commitment required. You can instruct us for a single year’s return and nothing further. Many clients return year after year because it is easier, but that is entirely their choice. If you decide to file independently next year or move to a different accountant, you leave with your filed return, your tax figures, and nothing owed.
What is the deadline for filing my self assessment tax return, and what happens if I miss it?
The online filing deadline for a given tax year (6 April to 5 April) is 31 January following the end of that tax year. Missing it results in an automatic £100 penalty from HMRC, with further penalties and interest accruing if the return or payment remains outstanding. We track your deadline from the point of instruction and will prompt you if information is still outstanding with enough time to file comfortably before the deadline.
Can you tell me what my tax bill is going to be before I need to pay it?
Yes, and that is one of the more useful things about having a return prepared properly and early. Once we have your figures, we can give you a clear picture of the tax due, the first and second payments on account (if applicable), and the dates those amounts are payable. Knowing several months in advance is considerably more useful than finding out in the final week of January.
