Switched Accountants, No Looking Back

“I switched from another accountant about a year ago and haven’t looked back since.”

Sound familiar?

Still not sure what your accountant is actually charging for?

A lot of small business owners end up with a vague monthly retainer, an end-of-year bill they did not budget for, or an accountant who files the numbers but never explains them. Finding someone affordable who is also qualified and reliable can feel like harder work than it ought to be. The result is usually one of three things: doing it yourself and hoping for the best, paying more than necessary, or delaying things until HMRC forces the issue.

  • Quoted a vague fee with extras appearing on every invoice
  • Paying a retainer but rarely hearing from your accountant
  • Putting off filings because you assume a good accountant costs too much

What straightforward accountancy looks like

Clear fees, published upfront. Qualified accountants who explain the numbers rather than just filing them. And a practice small enough that your calls and emails get answered by someone who knows your file.

  • Fixed one-off fees with everything included, stated clearly before you start
  • Regular, proactive contact so you know where things stand without chasing
  • Transparent pricing means no reason to delay getting your accounts sorted
  • Company accounts from £250, self assessment from £150, no surprises

What you get

Fixed fees covering the work you actually need

Core compliance filings are priced as one-off annual fees, published here. Ongoing services such as bookkeeping, VAT, and payroll are quoted based on your requirements.

01

Company Accounts and Tax Return

Your year-end accounts, corporation tax return (CT600), and Companies House filing handled end to end for a fixed fee of £250. That covers the profit and loss, balance sheet, tax computation, submission to both HMRC and Companies House, and a review of your tax position. No extras added on at the end.

Fixed fee: £250
02

Self Assessment Tax Return

Your personal tax return (SA100 and SA302) prepared and filed with HMRC for a fixed fee of £150. Covers income from multiple sources, applicable allowances and reliefs, payments-on-account advice, and timely submission well before the January deadline. You will know your tax bill in advance, not the week it is due.

Fixed fee: £150
03

Bookkeeping, VAT, and Payroll

Ongoing services are quoted based on the volume of transactions and complexity of your requirements. We work with Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, and Sage and can take over existing software or set things up from scratch. Quotes are provided before anything starts and reviewed if your business changes significantly.

Why choose Wings Online Filings

What sets us apart from the alternatives

There are a lot of accountants to choose from. Here is what is genuinely different about how we work.

📋

Prices published, not negotiated

Fixed annual fees for the most common filings are published on our website before you contact us. You know what company accounts, self assessment, dormant accounts, and confirmation statement filing each costs. No quotation games, no scope-creep additions once the work is underway.

🗣️

Numbers explained, not just filed

Filing the return is the minimum. We explain what the numbers mean, what your tax position looks like, and whether there is anything worth doing differently before the next year-end. Business owners we work with consistently say they feel better informed than they did with their previous accountant.

🏛️

Regulated and properly set up

Wings Online Filings Ltd is an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP) registered with Companies House and AML-supervised by HMRC, with professional indemnity insurance in place. Qualified accountants handle the work. That matters when HMRC has a question or something needs to be corrected.

Getting started

Up and running in four steps

Most clients are onboarded within a few days of their first contact. There is no lengthy paperwork or complicated handover process.

1

Request a free quote

Fill in the short form on this page or call us directly. Tell us what you need, your business type, and roughly where your accounts stand. We will come back to you the same day with a clear, fixed quote for the work.

2

We confirm the scope

Once you are happy with the quote, we confirm exactly what is included in writing before anything starts. No surprises later. If your books need catching up, we will say so clearly at this stage, along with any additional cost, so you can decide.

3

Send us your records

We give you a simple checklist of what we need. Most of it is already in your bank account or accounting software. You share it with us securely and we take it from there. You do not need to understand the numbers to hand them over.

4

Your filing is done

We complete the work, explain the outcome in plain terms, and submit everything to HMRC and Companies House on your behalf. You will know your tax position, your next due dates, and what, if anything, to do before the next filing period. Considerably less to think about from this point forward.

Questions

A few things people usually ask us

Do your fixed fees genuinely cover everything, or do extras appear later?+

The fixed fees listed on this page cover the specific work described: for company accounts at £250, that means the profit and loss, balance sheet, CT600, tax computation, and submission to both HMRC and Companies House. For self assessment at £150, it means the SA100 and SA302, allowances and reliefs, and submission to HMRC. If your situation has unusual complexity, such as a large number of income sources or significant catch-up bookkeeping required, we will say so before starting and agree any additional cost in writing first.

How much does it cost for ongoing bookkeeping, VAT, or payroll?+

These services depend on transaction volumes and the complexity of your business, so we quote them individually rather than publishing a single price. We will give you a clear, written quote before any work begins. There are no retainers or minimum contract periods for one-off filings, and ongoing service agreements are agreed month by month once we know what your business actually needs.

My books are behind. Can you still help, and what does catch-up work cost?+

Yes. A significant number of clients come to us with bookkeeping that has fallen behind or records in some disarray. We will assess what needs doing during the quoting stage and give you a clear figure before anything starts. Catch-up work is priced on the volume involved, not on how awkward it looks. Getting things current is almost always worthwhile before the year-end deadline arrives.

Is there a minimum contract or a tie-in period?+

No. For one-off annual filings such as company accounts, self assessment, or confirmation statements, you simply pay the fixed fee for that filing. There is no retainer and no minimum term. For ongoing services such as bookkeeping or payroll, we agree terms in advance, but there is no long lock-in. If you decide to move on, we provide clean records and everything needed for a smooth handover to a new accountant.

Do you work with clients across the whole of the UK, or only in certain areas?+

We work entirely online and serve clients remotely across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. There is no geographic restriction. Everything, from onboarding to document sharing to filing confirmations, is handled digitally, which also means you are not paying for office overheads that serve no purpose in a modern accountancy practice.

Can you help me reduce my tax bill, or is it just about filing the return?+

Filing the return is the floor, not the ceiling. As part of preparing your accounts or self assessment, we review your tax position and flag relevant allowances, reliefs, and planning opportunities where they exist. For more involved planning, such as capital gains on a property disposal or structuring as your business grows, we offer a separate advisory service and will be clear about what that involves and costs before proceeding.
