Affordable Accountants for Small Business

Affordable Accountants for Small Business

Your accounts and tax handled properly, at a price that makes sense.

Most small business owners either pay too much for an accountant or spend too much time doing it themselves. We handle your accounts, tax, and filings end to end, with fixed fees published upfront so you know the cost before you commit. Qualified accountants, ACSP-registered with Companies House, and questions answered the day you ask them.

  • Know your tax bill well before HMRC sends a reminder
  • Company accounts and corporation tax filed from £250
  • Self assessment completed and submitted from £150
  • Less of your evenings spent on bookkeeping and paperwork

No long-term contract. If it is not working after three months, you leave with clean books and nothing owed.

Better Strategic Consultancy

Sound familiar?

Running a small business is enough work already.

Most small business owners do not have an in-house finance team. The books get done late, the tax bill arrives as a surprise, and the accountant either costs more than expected or explains very little. Time spent trying to stay on top of the numbers is time taken away from the business itself, and mistakes catch up with you eventually.

  • Tax bills arriving as surprises because no one told you in advance
  • Hours lost on bookkeeping that should have been spent elsewhere
  • No clear idea what your accountant actually costs until the invoice arrives

What properly handled looks like

Your accounts, tax, and filings are taken care of by qualified accountants who explain what is happening and why. Fixed fees mean you know the cost before any work starts, and your tax position is reviewed throughout the year, not just in January.

  • Your tax bill is clear months before the deadline, not a last-minute shock
  • Bookkeeping and admin off your plate, so your time stays where it matters
  • Fixed fees published upfront, no unexpected invoices at year end
  • Plain-English explanations so you understand your numbers, not just receive them

Why Wings Online Filings

What makes the difference in practice

There are a lot of accountants. The difference tends to come down to three things: whether the pricing is honest, whether the advice is clear, and whether the firm actually stays on top of the work.

💷

Fixed Fees, Known Before You Start

Core compliance services carry published fixed fees, so you know the cost before any work begins. Company accounts and tax return: £250. Self assessment: £150. Confirmation statement: £70. Dormant accounts: £50. No invoices that arrive larger than expected.

📋

Numbers Explained, Not Just Filed

Filing your accounts is the minimum. Understanding what they mean is what actually helps you run the business. We explain your figures in plain terms, flag anything worth acting on, and keep you informed rather than leaving you to interpret documents you did not ask for.

🔒

Qualified and Regulated Throughout

Wings Online Filings is run by qualified accountants and is an Authorised Corporate Service Provider registered with Companies House. The firm is AML-supervised by HMRC and holds professional indemnity insurance. Your compliance is handled by people who are accountable for the work they do.

Getting started

2

We Review What You Have

3

We Handle the Work

Your accounts, tax returns, and filings are prepared and submitted on your behalf. We keep you informed at each stage and come back to you with any questions rather than making assumptions.

4

You Focus on the Business

Once everything is filed and up to date, you know your tax position, your filings are on time, and the compliance side of the business is no longer something you need to think about. Which is, frankly, the way it should be.

Questions

A few things small business owners usually ask

Do you work with small businesses across different industries, or do you specialise in one sector?+

We work with sole traders, limited companies, freelancers, contractors, property investors, e-commerce sellers, tradespeople, healthcare professionals, and others across the UK. The compliance work is largely the same regardless of sector: accounts, tax, VAT, payroll, and filings. Where your industry has specific considerations, such as CIS for construction or the flat rate scheme for certain service businesses, we factor that in from the start.

What does it actually cost, and is everything included in the fixed fee?+

Core compliance services have fixed, published fees: company accounts and corporation tax return £250, self assessment £150, confirmation statement £70, and dormant accounts £50. Each fee includes everything needed to complete and file that service. Ongoing work such as bookkeeping, VAT returns, and payroll is quoted separately based on your volume and frequency. You will have the full cost confirmed before any work starts.

My books are not in great shape. Is that a problem?+

Not an uncommon situation and not a barrier to getting started. We review what you have, let you know whether catch-up bookkeeping is needed, and quote for that separately if it is. Many clients come to us with records in various states and leave with everything clean, filed, and up to date. The sooner you get in touch, the easier the catch-up tends to be.

Am I tied in to a long-term contract?+

No. There is no minimum contract period. One-off fixed-fee services are paid for when the work is done. For ongoing arrangements such as monthly bookkeeping or payroll, we work on a rolling basis and you can give notice at any point. If you leave, you take your records with you in whatever format your software uses.

Can you take over from my existing accountant mid-year?+

Yes. Switching mid-year is straightforward. We contact your previous accountant for the handover information we need, which is standard practice, and pick up from where things stand. You do not need to wait until your year end, and you will not lose any historical records in the process.

Will I know what my tax bill is before HMRC tells me?+

That is the point of doing the accounts properly and in good time. For limited companies, we prepare the CT600 and let you know the corporation tax due well before the payment deadline. For self assessment, your personal tax liability is calculated when your return is prepared, not on 31 January. You will know the figure, understand where it comes from, and have time to plan for it.
