Micro Entity Accounts Filing

Micro Entity Accounts Filing

Get your micro entity accounts filed properly, without the headache.

If your company qualifies as a micro entity, you can file simplified accounts with Companies House rather than a full set. That is a genuine administrative saving, but the filing still needs to be accurate and on time. We prepare the statutory balance sheet, check your eligibility, and submit everything for you. Qualified accountants, ACSP-registered with Companies House, transparent fees, and a straightforward process from start to finish.

  • Eligibility checked before any work begins
  • Statutory balance sheet prepared and submitted to Companies House
  • Filing deadlines tracked so you avoid late penalties
  • Plain-English explanation of what was filed and why

No long-term contract required. If the service is not what you needed, you leave with your accounts filed and nothing further owed.

Sound familiar?

Not sure if you qualify, or what actually needs filing?

Micro entity rules are straightforward once you know them, but working out whether your company qualifies, and what a compliant filing actually looks like, takes more time than most directors expect. Miss the deadline and the penalty notice arrives quickly. Get the eligibility wrong and you may file accounts that do not meet the statutory requirements. It is one of those tasks that feels minor until it is not.

  • Unsure whether your company actually meets the micro entity criteria
  • Filing deadline approaching with no accounts prepared or reviewed
  • No confidence that a DIY filing will satisfy Companies House requirements

What a handled filing looks like

We check your eligibility first, prepare the statutory balance sheet to the correct standard, and submit to Companies House before the deadline. You confirm a few details and we take it from there.

  • Eligibility confirmed against current micro entity thresholds before any work starts
  • Accounts prepared and filed well ahead of your Companies House deadline
  • Statutory balance sheet reviewed and submitted by a qualified accountant
  • Clear, fixed quote provided upfront so you know the cost before committing

What you get

Everything your micro entity filing requires

We handle the preparation, the eligibility check, and the Companies House submission. You review and approve, then we file. That is the whole process.

01

Eligibility Check and Confirmation

Not every small company qualifies as a micro entity. Before preparing anything, we check your turnover, balance sheet total, and employee headcount against the current statutory thresholds. If you qualify, we proceed. If not, we tell you what the correct accounts format is and quote accordingly.

02

Statutory Balance Sheet Preparation

Micro entity accounts require a simplified balance sheet filed with Companies House. We prepare this to the correct statutory standard using your financial records, whether those are from Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, Sage, or a spreadsheet. The filing includes the directors’ approval and any required notes.

Included as standard
03

Companies House Submission and Deadline Tracking

Once you have approved the accounts, we submit directly to Companies House. We track your filing deadline from the outset so nothing is left to the last moment. You receive confirmation once the filing is accepted, and we flag any associated corporation tax obligations at the same time.

Why Wings Online Filings

What makes the difference in practice

There are plenty of accountants who will file your accounts. Fewer will check your eligibility first, explain what was done, and flag anything else you need to know.

Eligibility Checked Before You Pay

Some companies assume they qualify as micro entities when they do not, and file the wrong accounts format. We confirm eligibility against the current statutory thresholds before any work starts. If you do not qualify, we tell you clearly and quote for the correct filing instead.

📋

ACSP-Registered With Companies House

Wings Online Filings is an Authorised Corporate Service Provider registered with Companies House, and AML-supervised by HMRC. That means we file directly through authorised channels and carry professional indemnity insurance on the work we do. For statutory filings, that matters.

💬

Plain-English Explanation Included

Once your accounts are filed, we explain in plain terms what was submitted, what it means for your company record, and whether there are any associated deadlines coming up, such as a corporation tax return. You should know what was filed and why, not just receive a confirmation email.

Getting started

Your accounts filed in four straightforward steps

Most clients are up and running within a day or two of getting in touch. The process is designed to need as little of your time as possible.

1

Request a Quote

Fill in the quote form on this page or give us a call. We ask a few basic questions about your company: its year-end date, whether it is trading or dormant, and what records you have available. That is enough for us to confirm eligibility and give you a clear fee.

2

Share Your Records

You send us your financial records for the period. That might be a Xero or QuickBooks export, a FreeAgent report, a bank statement summary, or a spreadsheet. We work with whatever you have. If records are incomplete, we will tell you exactly what is missing before starting.

3

Review and Approve

We prepare the statutory balance sheet and send it to you for review. You check the figures and confirm approval. This is the point where any questions get answered. Once you are happy, we file directly with Companies House.

4

Filed and Confirmed

You receive confirmation of the accepted filing and a plain-English summary of what was submitted. If there are any follow-on obligations, such as a corporation tax return, we flag them at this point. Your Companies House record is up to date and you can get back to running the business.

Questions

A few things people usually ask first

How do I know if my company qualifies as a micro entity?+

To qualify, your company must meet at least two of three conditions in its financial year: turnover of no more than £632,000, a balance sheet total of no more than £316,000, and no more than ten employees. Newly incorporated companies and those in their first year of trading may also qualify under specific rules. We confirm your eligibility as the first step before preparing anything, so you will not pay for work that turns out to be unnecessary.

What does the micro entity accounts service cost?+

Pricing is based on your company’s circumstances, including what records you have available and whether a corporation tax return is required alongside the accounts. We provide a clear, fixed quote before starting any work, so you know the full cost upfront. For straightforward cases with clean records, most clients find the fee very manageable. Get a quote through the form on this page and we will come back to you the same day.

My records are in a bit of a state. Can you still help?+

Yes, though it does affect the process slightly. If your records are incomplete or disorganised, we will tell you exactly what we need and what it will take to get from where you are to a filed set of accounts. There may be a catch-up element to the fee if significant work is needed to get the figures to a reliable state. Either way, you will know the full picture before committing.

Is there a contract or minimum term?+

No. Micro entity accounts filing is a one-off service: you pay for the work done, and there is no ongoing commitment unless you choose to use us for other services. If you want us to handle future years or other compliance work, that is a separate conversation. Nothing is assumed or added on without your agreement.

Do micro entity accounts need to be filed with HMRC as well as Companies House?+

The simplified micro entity balance sheet is filed with Companies House only. HMRC requires a full set of statutory accounts as part of your corporation tax return, so if your company is trading and has a tax liability, we prepare a separate set of accounts for that purpose. We flag this clearly and can handle both filings together if needed.

Can micro entity filing help reduce my corporation tax bill?+

The micro entity regime affects what you file publicly, not how your tax is calculated. Corporation tax is based on your company’s actual profits, and the tax planning opportunities around that sit in the CT600 process rather than the accounts format itself. If you want us to look at your tax position at the same time as filing the accounts, that is something we can discuss and quote for separately.
