Sound familiar?

Still not sure what your corporation tax bill will be?

Most company directors know their CT600 deadline is coming. Fewer know exactly what their bill will be, whether they have claimed every relief available, or whether last year’s return was filed correctly. The paperwork is not complicated once someone who does it regularly is handling it, but sitting down to work it out yourself is a different matter entirely.

  • CT600 deadline approaching with no clear figure on what is owed
  • Unsure whether allowable expenses and capital allowances have been claimed correctly
  • Previous year filed without proper tax planning, so the bill was higher than it needed to be

What a properly handled return looks like

We prepare the full corporation tax computation, apply the reliefs and allowances your company is entitled to, and send you a clear summary before submitting anything. You know your position. We handle the filing.

  • Your CT600 filed on time, with the computation checked before submission
  • All allowable expenses, capital allowances, and reliefs reviewed and applied
  • Tax planning included so your bill is no higher than it should be
  • Clear pricing agreed upfront, with no invoice surprises after the work is done

What you get

What the corporation tax service covers

The work is straightforward in scope. We prepare the computation, check your figures, apply the right reliefs, and file with HMRC. Here is what that breaks down to in practice.

01

CT600 Preparation and Filing

We prepare your corporation tax return (CT600) and the full supporting computation from your year-end accounts. Once you have reviewed the summary and are happy with the figures, we submit directly to HMRC on your behalf. No back-and-forth chasing portals or reference numbers.

Included as standard
02

Tax Planning and Allowances Review

Before we finalise the computation, we check that all allowable expenses, capital allowances, and any available reliefs have been applied correctly. For many companies, this step alone changes the bill. It takes a few extra minutes on our end and costs nothing extra.

Included as standard
03

Clear Summary Before We File

You receive a plain-English breakdown of your tax position before anything is submitted: what you owe, when it is due, and what the figures are based on. If you have questions, you ask them then. Nothing goes to HMRC until you are satisfied with the numbers.

Why clients choose us

What makes the difference when you are choosing who files your tax return

There are a few things that matter when it comes to corporation tax. Accuracy, clear communication, and knowing your accountant has actually looked at the figures rather than just processed them.

🔍

The computation is checked, not just completed

We review the figures before the CT600 goes anywhere near HMRC. That means checking allowable deductions, applying capital allowances correctly, and confirming the tax due figure is right. A rushed filing can cost more than the accountancy fee if it is wrong.

📋

You know the position before we file

Before submission, you receive a clear summary of your corporation tax liability: what is owed, what it is based on, and when payment is due. There are no surprises after the event. If anything looks unfamiliar, you ask before we file.

🤝

A long-term relationship, not a one-off transaction

Many clients come to us for a single return and stay because the process is straightforward and the communication is reliable. We keep records of your previous filings, track your deadlines, and flag anything that needs attention before it becomes a problem.

Getting started

Your CT600 sorted in four steps

The process is designed to take as little of your time as possible. Most clients spend less than an hour in total providing information.

1

Get a quote

Fill in the short quote form or book a call. We will confirm the price and what we need from you. No lengthy onboarding or paperwork before we have even agreed terms.

2

Send us your figures

We tell you exactly what we need: your year-end accounts (or bookkeeping records if accounts are not yet done), any director loan details, and a note of any significant purchases or disposals during the year. We work with Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, Sage, or a simple spreadsheet.

3

We prepare and review with you

We prepare the corporation tax computation and CT600, check the figures, and send you a clear summary to review. You confirm you are happy. We answer any questions. Then we submit.

4

Filed, with a clear record kept

Your CT600 is submitted to HMRC, and you receive confirmation. You know what you owe, when it is due, and when your next filing deadline falls. Your tax position is on record and we will be here when the next year-end comes around.

Questions

Things people usually ask about corporation tax

What exactly is a CT600 and does my limited company have to file one?+

A CT600 is the corporation tax return that every active UK limited company must file with HMRC each year, covering the profits made in the accounting period. It is separate from your Companies House accounts, though both arise from the same set of figures. The filing deadline is twelve months after the end of your accounting period, and the tax payment itself is due nine months and one day after the year-end. Missing either deadline results in automatic HMRC penalties, which increase the longer the return remains outstanding.

What does the service cost and what is included?+

Corporation tax returns are priced based on the complexity of your company’s affairs. For straightforward limited companies, the CT600 is included as part of our Company Accounts and Tax Return package, which is priced at £250 as a one-off annual fee. That covers the P&L, balance sheet, CT600 preparation and computation, HMRC and Companies House submission, and a review of your tax position. For companies with more complex structures, investment income, group relationships, or R&D claims, we will provide a tailored quote before any work begins.

My bookkeeping is behind. Can you still file my return?+

Yes, and it is more common than you might expect. We can work from incomplete or messy records, but we will need to bring them to a reasonable standard before we can prepare the accounts and CT600 accurately. We will tell you upfront if catch-up bookkeeping is needed and what that costs, so there are no surprises on the invoice. The alternative, filing on poor records, risks an incorrect return and a potentially higher tax bill, neither of which is in your interest.

Am I tied in if I use you for one return?+

No. There is no ongoing contract required for one-off compliance work. You engage us for the return, we do the work, and that is the end of it unless you want to continue. Many clients do stay on because the process is straightforward, but that is a decision you make each year, not one locked in on the first filing.

Can you deal with HMRC on my behalf if there are queries?+

Yes. If HMRC raises a query on a return we have filed, we handle the correspondence. We will explain what they are asking, draft the response, and keep you informed throughout. HMRC queries on straightforward CT600 returns are not especially common, but if one arrives it is considerably less stressful when someone who filed the return is dealing with the reply.

Can you help reduce my corporation tax bill, not just file the return?+

Within the scope of what HMRC allows, yes. That means applying all legitimate deductions, checking capital allowances on equipment and vehicles, reviewing director remuneration structure, and flagging any reliefs such as R&D tax credits that may be available. We do not recommend arrangements that do not withstand scrutiny, but there is usually a meaningful difference between a return prepared carefully and one filed in a hurry. Most clients find the tax planning element pays for the fee on its own.
